Prior to his elevation to the apex court, he held the prestigious position of Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court from June 2, 2018, to September 22, 2019.

Before his tenure in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Murari served as a judge in the Allahabad High Court from August 18, 2005, until June 1, 2018.
