Moot Court Competitions

33rd BAR COUNCIL OF INDIA TRUST – ALL INDIA INTER-UNIVERSITY MOOT COURT COMPETITION [30th March, 2017 to 2nd April,  2017]

The organization/management by the host organization was pathetic. The people have no clue as to how to conduct a moot court competition. Basic facilities like pick up from the airport was not provided, no team guides/escorts, nobody to inform the participants about the location of court halls..we had to walk and keep searching and requesting to tell us where the court rooms are located. To top it all, they made us walk in summer heat for 2-3 kms for lunch, whereas lunch for the judges and the faculty members of the host organization was given separately in the same building.

All in all, our experience was pathetic. No provision of books in the library, no student co-coordinators, no student conveners, strict curfew timings even during the moot and to top it of, the moot was clubbed with other activities that was being organized by the institution, which led to a lot of confusion and delay.

There was no copy of the problems provided to judges in the court halls, no bells for time keeping, no clarity regarding the rules, no water was made available to the participants (on complaint later, they provided us with water filled in some plastic bottles that was not even sealed!) and one faculty from the host organization kept disturbing in between when the pleadings were going on..she would just barge into the court rooms and disturb the judges.

To conclude, the management was inefficient and no idea as to how to go about organizing a national moot court competition and this is the BCI moot to say!!
