The objective of this course is to present information, knowledge, ideas, strategies, and wisdom on the functioning of the entire capital market. Emphasis is on the working of regulatory institutions, stock exchanges, depositories, clearing houses, depository participants and institutional and individual investors. A deep understanding and active interaction are aimed at the modus operandi of major capital market instruments. Instruments such as equity, derivatives, and debt would be dealt in detail. Indices such as NIFTY and SENSEX will be discussed using the computational methodology, trends, and future projections. Trading mechanism and value strategies will be discussed. The regulation governing the working of the institutions would be deliberated. SEBI (ICDR) Guidelines and subsequent amendments will be discussed at length. Reference will be made to behavioral finance and investor psychology. Capital Market Scandals and many notable events will be discussed. International stock exchanges such as India International Exchange and NSE International Exchange will be discussed.
