Learn how to Enrich your C.V during summer vacations
Different opportunities are lined up for each one of us during these vacations. Most of us want to sit back and relax during these two to three months’ vacations. But, how about we enjoy along with doing something productive. Don’t forget you are competing with the students who have the same exam grades as you, so it’s is always better to have an edge over your peers by trying these options:
If you wish to have a scholarly environment around you, want to excel in any subject or learn a course, which is not offered in your university and all of this with the added bonanza of meeting new people and making new friends from all over the world, then summer school is the choice for you.
You get the opportunity to develop your social skills as you will meet new people from different regions of the world and it will ultimately boost up your confidence just from being away from your home country. You will not only grow as a student but also as an individual.
This will definitely help you have a stronger CV with the added skills you learned.
This is one of the best options. You can find an internship either on your own or with the help of any agency or through your university internship committee. For a reputed internship, which can actually be an added advantage for you, well-advanced research is a must. Apart from this, your CV must speak for itself. For this, it is recommended that you must attend CV building sessions at your university.
Also while applying for an internship do mention the duration when you want to intern or else in most of the cases your application goes unnoticed.
Part- time jobs
There are times when you are not offered any internship despite the fact that you applied well in advance or when you applied late that there is no vacancy left. No need to be disheartened. You can still make up for the loss. You can look out for part time jobs in any field as this will yield you experience which is looked by the employers. This might not be the job you were dreaming of but this will make you learn teamwork, time management and most importantly stress management and help you develop others skills as well. These things will be useful in the longer run.
So instead of being a couch potato, start looking for opportunities!
