About the Summit

The post -2015 education agenda is now defined by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and particularly for education, SDG4 seeks to “ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong opportunities for all”. Two days long summit to deliberate over leveraging to support inclusive and quality education and promote lifelong learning. The summit will bring together industry stalwarts and key representatives from Government and civil society to deliberate on “Child Rights: Education Matters for Life” and draft recommendations which can aide policy development.

Agenda of the Summit

The summit will explore some of the following questions :

1. What are some of the implications of Right to Education Act (RTE Act)- with specific reference to advancing the agenda on quality education?

1. What are some of the implications of Right to Education Act (RTE Act)- with specific reference to advancing the agenda on quality education?
2. What are the issues that hamper enabling an environment for children to learn?
3. What are some of the social determinants like gender, caste, early marriage, home environment, school environment, policy matters, poverty, etc.; that affect quality education for children at the primary level.
4. The role of civil societies has important role to play in ensuring enabling the environment to improve quality education at the primary level.

Sub-Themes of the Summit

The following sub themes are designed to generate more conversations on quality education in India.
1. Legal frame works in child protection
2. Partnerships and Sustainability in promoting quality education
3. Enabling environment and Community engagement
4. Programs, Policies and Models of Educations
5. Child rights and contemporary debates
6. Research and Innovations in Quality Education

Target Audience of the Summit

The target audiences are from INGOs/ UN organisation/ Government Organisation/ Development Practitioners from INGOs/ Academicians/ CSR professionals/ Social Work Students/ Representatives from FICCI, Lions Club, Rotary Club, CII etc.

Call for Papers and Publication

The Conference committee invites original unpublished research papers for the conference. Since the topic has both academic and practical relevance, the summit organizers intend to publish a book on: “Child rights: Education matters of life” which will be peer reviewed and co-edited by the scientific committee members formed for the summit purpose.
