Brief Introduction

The University Institute of Legal Studies was established in year 2015 under Chandigarh University. It is situated in Gharuan. The courses offered here are BA/LLB, BBA/LLB, BCOM/LLB, LLB, LLM. The timing for classes are from 9:30 am to 4:20 pm(including break time of one hour)There are about 6 to 7 subject each semester.The evaluation method consist of 60 % marks from written exams and 40 % from assignments and presentation.

Describe the place

Located at outskirts of beautiful city of Chandigarh. The approximate driving between Chandigarh university and bus stand (sector 43) is about 10 km.

Established in year 2015,it’s a 8 storied building with separate floor for each law programme. The building include a lift for the convince of students. It also has a well-stocked library on 4th floor consisting of all essential books, and a moot court on third floor for mock trials.

 Hostel facility

There are separate hostels for boys and girls inside university campus as well as outside the campus. Equipped with Wi-Fi facility. Geyser is also available for hot water in winter. 24/7 light. One cooler per room (In some new hostel rooms are equipped with central cooling system)

Faculty and academics

*Consist well qualified faculty under effective administration.Positive environment for learning.faculty here have highly developed analytical skills and efficiently able to coordinate among students.A designated building for academic support staff were staff try resolve problem of student as soon as possible

Administration and fee structure

Effective administration key head of collage is director who coordinates between university and college.

Semester fee-35000 per semester

Hostel fee-70000 per year


Each block of university has its own cafeteria usually. There also a subway cafe and samosa express in university campus.


Since the collage was open in 2015, so the pilot batch is yet to get graduate. If we consider other collage under university, their placement record is quite good.

  1. State of art library.
  2. Well-equipped computer lab.
  3. Well qualified faculty.
  4. Effective administration.
  5. Well-mannered staff.
  6. Better internships opportunities.

Worst things

  1. Sometime hostel food is not up to the mark.
  2. Due to strict rules and regulation it feels like school.
