It has been selected as one of the Indian cities to be developed as a smart city under the Smart Cities Mission. Infrastructure of my college
We have recently built campus near Sabbavaram (around 20kms from main city), well connected via national highway, our campus is located at a beautiful place which is surrounded by hills and greenery, A well manipulated Academic block covered by AC at every corner, a colossal library which remains open till 11.00 PM during Exam Time (for both boys and girls), Hostels are well connected via plain road to academic block and canteen. We have two AC buses for academic purposes and one Ambulance for the emergency. Apart from all these the next phase of construction is under process which includes staff quarter, a separate administrative block etc.
Hostel Facility is pretty good actually well connected to academic block and canteen, a full furnished room is being allotted to students with 3 cap in boys and 2 cap in girls, It includes gymnasium, entertainment room, sports room, TV room, separate for boys and girls with 24 hours electric and water (purified and chilled) facility including Wi-Fi and proper security.
Faculty and Academics Class starts at 9:30 am with duration of an hour in each class, in total we have five classes with a lunch break of 1:30 hour and classes get over at 4:05 PM.
Curriculum is comprehensive where in your first year you deal with the B.A. subjects along with it one gets to learn the basics of law, making it easy for a novice to get into the groove of law school and Second year on-wards you are introduced to law subjects.
Administration and Fees
Administration in DSNLU is student friendly and easily approachable if needed. But all is not well in this fairyland with politics included and so it’s more like survival of the fittest.
Fees structure of DSNLU at present is Rs.1,55,000 [Excluding Hostel(15,000/- p.a) and mess charges(3500/- p.m)].
Student Culture and Activities
Student Culture in DSNLU is Vibrant with various society existing and conducting competition throughout the year.
Chief activities being Novice and Intra Moot court competition along with a National event called DSNMC which has seen participation from all over the country and proved to be a grand success over the years.
Then comes everyone’s favourite Intra Varsity Asian Parliamentary Debate Competition called ‘VAKTA’ which sees participation from almost all the students of the university and an event worth attending.
Apart from this we have societies in college looking after all these events like Moot and Advocacy society (MAS), Society of Literature and Debate (SOLID), Career and Placement Society (CAPS), Legal Aid cell, SANCTUS and many more.
Talking about placement the CAPS has started functioning this year on-wards and is expected to shape the career graph of students.
Best things about your law school
Best thing about our law school is that one gets ample opportunity to grow. Be it co-curricular activities or academics.
Since it is growing from the scratch one gets to be a part of the decision making process and opportunities where you get to be a part of it and with it one gets to understand the intricacies of a law school.
Worst things about your law school
The location perhaps with food being and after all it’s not your home cooked food with the magical hands of mom (people who likes south Indian taste will have no issue). It’s located at a remote place and sometimes a small market nearby the campus (sabbavaram) wouldn’t fulfil all our needs.
Don’t judge this college based on its face value, this college is doing great in National moots and debates and gives one ample opportunity to grow and outshine.
