BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF THE LAW SCHOOL
Indore Institute of Law is considered as one of the best private colleges in central India. It is affiliated to DAVV University and the Bar Council of India, New Delhi. This is a leading law school and was established in the year 2003 with the objective of intellectual awakening through education.
NAME OF THE SCHOOL
Indore Institute of Law, Indore
Indore, Madhya Pradesh
Law School is located at the Gendalal Bam Parisar, opposite IIM, Rau- Pithampur Road, Indore which is situated at the fringe of Indore city surrounded by small villages and thus has a very peaceful and fresh environment. Though the college is in a remote area, access is easily available as IIM is very near to it.
Indore Institute of Law has an excellent infrastructure in comparison to the other law colleges in India which definitely help nurture young minds. Full wifi campus, well furnished air-conditioned classrooms, well-equipped library, a computer lab with access to many legal search sites and a green campus are some of the superlative features of it.
The Indore Institute of Law provides a comfortable and well-furnished hostel to the girls in the campus and to boys outside the campus. The hostel accommodation charges are reasonable and both AC and Non-AC rooms are available. There is no single room provided to a student, however double and triple sharing rooms are available. There is no specific area provided for the mess in Girls hostel as cafeteria and mess are included together at the same place which creates a lot of rush during lunch time. The quality of mess food is also degrading with time and they tried to make menu better many times but it didn’t work for more than one week.
FACULTY AND ACADEMICS
In Indore Institute of law faculties are highly qualified and are selected after an interview. Some faculties are LL.M graduates from national law university or foreign who put a lot of efforts in the lectures delivered but some lectures are delivered by average faculties or senior faculties who only bother to complete the syllabus on time.
The courses which are provided in the Indore Institute of law are:
BA.LLB [Honors] ; BBA.LLB [Honors] for five years, LLB for 3 years and LLM for two years.
In five year course there are total ten semesters and in each semester there are two research projects and presentation of that project is compulsory which develop the research and presentation skills of students. There are also two mid-semester exams in each semester which are helpful for the preparation of exams. 75% attendance is compulsory in every semester for each student in order to eligible for semester exams. Timings of classes are very flexible 9.00 a.m to 2.00 p.m daily.
ADMINISTRATION AND FEE STRUCTURE
The administration is excellent and has strict rules and regulations and every student has to follow that rules. The efficiency of administration makes Indore Institute of law fastest developing or growing school in central India.
The total fees of a student pursuing five years course are about 10 lakhs rupees inclusive of hostel fees.
There is not a specific cafeteria as mess and cafeteria are both at the same place. During lunch time it is almost impossible to get a vacant seat because of a large number of students. The canteen has to be bigger to avoid the rush.
STUDENT CULTURE AND ACTIVITIES
Indore Institute of Law is famous for its activities. There are nine societies in the college which are election commission, moot-court, online, literary, sports, event management, placement and legal-aid society. Events like debates, moots, conferences, and seminars are also organized by the college.
Lex bonanza is the annual law fest which is the biggest law fest of the college where teams of the different college participated in different activities.
College is working hard for the placements and currently 8 lakhs is the highest package of placement. The efforts would definitely increase the number of students placed in the future.
The infrastructure of college is virtuoso which is easy for the students to get involved to the activities of the college. Events of the college are organized and conducted by the student itself which make the student more responsible and help in enhancing their skills.
The semester exams are never held on time as it is affiliated to the DAVV University. Timings of interns for many places are already fixed and because of delay in exams, a student cannot avail it.
Indore Institute of Law is growing rapidly and working hard for the placements of students. I recommend this college to the students who want to pursue law.
