What is dower (Meher) in Muslim Law and what are its various forms? Discuss the above explaining the Muslim widow's right of retention of husband's estate in lieu of her dower claim. [25 Marks]

What is the right of preemption? Who may claim the right of preemption? When can this right of preemption be exercised? Comment. [25 Marks]

Question 10

Discuss the provisions of maintenance of wife by the husband under the Muhammadan Law. What right of maintenance a divorced wife has under the Muhammadan Law? Discuss in the light of Apex Court's decision in the case of Shah Bano. [25 Marks]
