Centre for Intellectual Property Law (CIPL), School of Law, Bennett University is organising its 1st National Intellectual Property Law Essay Writing Competition 2023.
About the Competition
The essay competition aims to make the country's youth aware of the growing importance of intellectual property law and appreciate the contributions of this field in protecting the creations of people's minds. The competition will also give an opportunity for young minds to harness their creativity and express ways in which this upcoming and dynamic arena of law can create a huge impact on our day-to-day lives.
Theme
The candidates must choose any one theme from the below-given list for the essay.
- Traditional Knowledge under Intellectual Property Law
- Intellectual property issues in the Metaverse
- Use of Green Trademarks for promoting sustainability
- ChatGPT and the associated issues in copyright law
- Issues relating to intellectual property in outer space
- AI and intellectual property law
Eligibility
- The online essay writing competition is open to undergraduate, postgraduate, PhD, and Research scholars engaged in any field of study.
- Only one entry from each participant will be considered. In case it is discovered that a participant has submitted more than one entry, all the entries from the participant will be disqualified. The term “one entry” is inclusive of both the word format and the pdf format of the submission.

- Individual Authorship: INR 236
- Co-Authorship: INR 295

Prizes
Winners of the competition will be awarded cash prizes as follows:
- First prize: INR 15,000.
- Second prize: INR 10,000.
- Third prize: INR 5000.
