Advanced Certificate Course: Maritime Law, Policies, and Practices | Nirma University

Institute of Law, Nirma University under the aegis of Centre for Continuing Education, Nirma University is organising an Advanced Certificate Course on "Maritime Law, Policies and Practices". The course is designed for Undergraduate, Postgraduate students, Researchers, Scholars, Maritime Ports Officers, Seafarers, Maritime Professionals, Academicians of the related field and various other stakeholders.

Duration

Six Months (Part-time, Online Mode Four Quadrant – Four Credit Course).

• Commencing from 09th November 2023 to 10th May 2024.
• The course is designed for 60 hours.
• The classes will be conducted every Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM through online mode except on official holidays.

Graduate, Postgraduate students, Research Scholars, Researchers, Faculty Members, Maritime professionals, Ports Officers, Seafarers, Maritime Stakeholders etc. (The participants of the First Edition and Second Edition of the Certificate Course on Law of the Sea and Maritime Law are eligible to apply for Advanced Certificate Course on Maritime Law Policies and Practices).

• Dr Madhumita Kothari (PhD Maritime Studies, LL.M. Shipping Laws from Cardiff University, UK with Distinction) (External Resource Person) Area of Expertise- Law of the Sea and Shipping Law, International Human Rights Laws, International Humanitarian Laws and Refugee Laws.

• The course contents include very significant aspects of Maritime Law, Policies and Practices which includes; -
• Legal Frameworks of Maritime Policies and Practices
  
• Maritime Business and Marine Insurance
  
• Safety and Security at Sea and Maritime Law
• Marine Environment and Legal Control and Maritime Liabilities
• Maritime Labour Laws and Protection of Rights of Labour and
• Maritime dispute settlement.
