GD Goenka University is a private university located in Sohna, Haryana, India. It was established in 2013 by the GD Goenka Group through The Haryana Private Universities Act, 2013. The GD Goenka Group was founded by Shri A.K. Goenka.

About the Competition

GD Goenka University, School of Law is organizing its 4th GD Goenka International Virtual Client Counselling Competition from 8th-9th November 2023

Eligibility

• Students duly enrolled and pursuing full-time 5 5-year or 3-year undergraduate law courses from India or from a foreign university with law as a major may apply to participate in the 4th GD Goenka International Virtual Client Counselling Competition, 2023.
  
• Students enrolled and pursuing post-graduate diploma or short-term certificate courses in law are not eligible to apply.

Team Composition

• A team shall consist of a maximum of two members that must include two Speakers (Only one team from an institute is allowed to participate).
• Any team, intending to change the team composition shall intimate the same to the GoverningCouncil by sending an e-mail at clientcounselling@gdgu.org the change will be allowed at the discretion of the Governing Council.
• Any person, other than the registered team members, is not eligible to join the video-conferencing or the audio-video recording of the consultation sessions, and non-compliance is a ground for disqualification.

Language of the Competition

The competition shall be organized and conducted in the English Language.

Registration

Each team shall register to 4th GD Goenka International Virtual Client Counselling Competition, 2023 by filling out the registration form, in the prescribed manner by 2nd November 2023 and the early bird registration form by 12th October 2023.

On receipt of the duly filled Registration form, the institute shall respond to the participating team, acknowledging the receipt.

After the deadline for the registration expires, the Governing Council shall respond to each registered team, as specified under clause 3.1.1 in the brochure with a unique team code, which shall be used to identify the teams during the competition.

Registration Fee

• Indian Teams: INR 2500 | Early Bird Registration at INR 2000 [Till 12th October 2023 IST].
• International Teams: USD 35 | Early Bird Registration at USD 32 [Till 12th October 2023 IST].

The registration fee is non-refundable.

Note

• The registration fee for the 4th GD Goenka International Virtual Client Counselling Competition, 2023 is to be paid through NEFT transfer or UPI. No other payment method shall be accepted.
• Any additional charges incurred by the team while making the wire transfer are to be borne and paid by the team.

Completion of Registration Process

All teams must upload a scanned copy of the receipt generated on completion of the NEFT transfer or UPI on the Registration Form. The receipt must contain the reference number after the completion of the wire transfer of the registration fees.

Awards

• Winner: INR 20,000 + Trophy + Certificate
  
• Runner-up: INR 12,000 + Trophy + Certificate
• Best Advocate: INR 8,000 + Trophy + Certificate

Note: It is the responsibility of teams to distribute cash prizes among themselves.

• Online Certificates for participation will be given to all the participants under the current circumstances. The Online Certificates will be accessible only after the valedictory ceremony.
  
• Participants will receive their Participation Certificates in the given mail after they fill up the feedback form.
• Certificates for Quarter-Finalists, Semi-Finalists, Runners-up, Winners and Best Speaker will also be provided after they fill up an additional form for their prizes.
• Cash awards will be sent after getting details of winners such as Institution ID card, PAN Card and bank Account details for which they will be contacted via email by the Moot Court Committee.
