Seedling School of Law and Governance, Jaipur National University is organizing a Trial Advocacy and Judgement Writing Competition, 2023 on 26th - 28th October 2023.

About the TAAS

Trial & Appellate Advocacy Society (TAAS) is entrusted with the responsibility of administering Trial Advocacy Tournaments, Judgment Writing Competition and Client Counselling Competitions upholding the high standards of excellence that the Seedling School of Law and Governance, Jaipur National University, Jaipur has set for itself.

About the Event

This Competition is conceived with the aim of promoting and developing skills in the procedure followed by Trial Courts and testing the knowledge of law students across the nation. The law students are put through a series of factual and legal knowledge examinations.

Trial advocacy is the branch of knowledge concerned with making attorneys and other advocates more effective in trial proceedings. A mock trial is merely a replicated version of a judicial trial. It trained the students to practice before the Criminal Court.

Eligibility

The Competition is open to all students, enrolled bonafide on a regular basis in an undergraduate Law course (5 years integrated Law course/3 Year L.L.B Course) or its equivalent conducted by any recognized Institution/College/University.

Each Team shall consist of 3 members. This number cannot be modified under any circumstances. There can be 2 Speakers and 1 Researcher designated for each team.

Seedling School of Law and Governance, Jaipur National University, Main Campus, Jaipur, Agra By-pass, Near New RTO Office, Jagatpura, Jaipur Rajasthan-302017.

Registration Procedure

  • Each team shall complete the registration within the stipulated time. The registration is a two-step process comprising of filling up of the registration form and payment of the registration fee as provided in Rules and Regulations. Registration will be open till October 08, 2023 (11:59 P.M. IST).
  • The Teams are required to send a bonafide letter issued by the appropriate authority of their College or University along with the duly filled registration form. The registration form can be downloaded from below.

Registration Fee

INR 4,500.

Payment of Registration Fee

Teams must make the payment by Online Mode. The procedure for the same has been provided in the Rules and Regulations.

All the formalities concerning the registration process should be completed by October 8, 2023. The decision of the Organizers shall be final in this regard.

  • Best Judgment Writing Award: INR 5,000 + Trophy
  • Best Memorial Award: INR 6,000 + Trophy
  • Best Student Counsel Award: INR 7,000 + Trophy
  • 2nd Best Student Counsel Award: INR 5,000 + Trophy
  • Best Trial Award: INR 7,000 + Trophy
  • 2nd Best Trial Award: INR 5,000 + Trophy
