Joe Biden, the president of the US has signed a law that makes lynching a hate crime in the United States of America.

3. Varuna Naval Exercise conducted in the Arabian Sea (03.04.2022)

Ending on 03rd April 2022, the 20th edition of the bilateral naval exercise that is named 'Varuna' was being conducted by India and France in the Arabian Sea from 30th March till 3rd April 2022. In this exercise, various units of the two navies which include submarines, ships, fighter aircraft, maritime patrol aircraft, and helicopters participated.

4. Economic cooperation and trade agreement signed between India and Australia (04.04.2022)

An economic cooperation and trade agreement has been signed between India and Australia. Under this agreement, Australia is to provide duty-free access for over 95 percent of Indian goods like leather, textiles, sports products, and jewellery in its market.

5. India's first Steel Slag Road built in Surat, Gujarat (04.04.2022)

Surat, Gujarat is the first Indian city to get a road built from processed steel slag (industrial waste). This road has been developed as a joint-venture project by the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), NITI Aayog, Union Steel Ministry, and ArcelorMittal-Nippon Steel (AM/NS) at Hazira, a suburb of Surat.

6. Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change order on Genome-edited plants (04.04.2022)

The Indian government has issued an order for the first time exempting certain types of crops that are genome-edited from the stringent regulations that are applicable in the country on genetically modified or GM crops.

7. Wu Yajun, a Beijing-based property developer has topped the Hurun Richest Self-Made Women in the World 2022 (04.04.2022)

Three Indian women Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw of Biocon, Falguni Nayar of Nykaa, and Radha Vembu of Zoho have been featured in the latest Hurun Richest Self-Made Women in the World 2022 (Hurun list of women self-made billionaires). Wu Yajun, a Beijing-based property developer has topped this list.

8. An agreement between WWF India and Arunachal Pradesh State Biodiversity Board (APSBB) was inked in New Delhi (04.04.2022)

To develop the State Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (SBSAP) a pact has been inked by Arunachal Pradesh with WWF India.

9. Broadcast Seva Portal launched (04.04.2022)

Anurag Thakur, the Information and Broadcasting Minister has launched the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting's Broadcast Seva Portal.

10. Viktor Orban is Hungary's New PM (04.04.2022)

Viktor Orban has again been elected as the Prime Minister of Hungary for the fourth time.

11. New Chemical Reference Materials developed Indigenously (05.04.2022)

Six new and rare Reference Materials (RMs) have been indigenously developed by the National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL). RMs are the purest form of chemical that is required in all WADA-accredited laboratories across the world for anti-doping analysis.

12. HDFC Limited merged with HDFC Bank (05.04.2022)

HDFC's board of directors has approved the merger of HDFC Bank, India's largest private sector bank with HDFC (Housing Development Finance Corporation), India's largest housing finance firm.

13. NASA's SpaceX Crew-4 mission was launched (05.04.2022)

SpaceX and NASA are gearing up to launch astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS) as part of the Commercial Crew Program of NASA. This will be the fourth crew rotation mission and will be carrying an international crew consisting of four astronauts on a science expedition to the ISS.

14. International Air Connectivity Scheme launched (05.04.2022)

The International Air Connectivity Scheme (IACS) has been launched by the Ministry of Civil Aviation with the objective of enhancing air connectivity from India's certain states with some selected international destinations so as to promote socio-economic growth.

15. Two Indian won in Grammy Award, 2022 (05.04.2022)

At the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, two Indian musicians were among the winners. Falu, an Indian-American singer-songwriter won her maiden Grammy in the category of Best Children's Music Album. Composer Ricky Kej also won his second Grammy as he and Stewart Copeland won the award in the category of Best New Age Album.

49. Agra has become the first city in India to have a vacuum-based sewers system (29.04.2022)
