Prayagraj,10 January 2026 — Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University, Prayagraj (RPNLU) was honoured to host Shri Yogi Adityanath ji, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Chairperson of the General Council, on 10 January 2026, marking a significant milestone in the University’s institutional development.
The visit underscored the Uttar Pradesh Government’s continued commitment to strengthening legal education, good governance, and constitutional values. It also reflected the State’s vision for nurturing RPNLU as a premier institution of legal learning in India.
Inspection of Permanent Campus and Interaction with University Community
During his visit, Shri Yogi Adityanath ji inspected the ongoing construction of the University’s permanent campus at Jhalwa. He also interacted with members of the General Council, faculty members, and students, gaining first-hand insight into the University’s academic and infrastructural progress.
Prayagraj’s Legacy as a Centre of Knowledge
Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Chief Minister reflected on the civilisational and historical legacy of Prayagraj as a renowned centre of learning. He noted that from the ancient Gurukul tradition to modern educational institutions, Prayagraj has long symbolised the transmission of knowledge, discipline, and moral values.
He observed that Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University represents a modern extension of this intellectual heritage, blending India’s ancient traditions with contemporary legal education in a harmonious and meaningful manner.
Emphasis on Rule of Law and Constitutional Values
Highlighting the central role of the rule of law in a democratic polity, and referring to the University’s proximity to the Allahabad High Court the largest High Court in India, Shri Yogi Adityanath ji underscored the special responsibility borne by RPNLU.
He stated that democracy derives its strength from the rule of law, and institutions like RPNLU must play a vital role in nurturing legal professionals who are committed to justice, ethical conduct, and public accountability.
Deliberations on the Future Roadmap of RPNLU
In his capacity as Chairperson of the General Council, Shri Yogi Adityanath ji deliberated on the future roadmap of the University. He advised that institutional growth should be pursued in a structured, time-bound, and quality-driven manner, with balanced attention to infrastructure development, governance, and academic excellence.
Expressing optimism, he conveyed his hope that the forthcoming academic session beginning in August would commence from the new permanent campus.

The programme commenced with a formal welcome address by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Senior Professor Dr. Usha Tandon. She expressed deep gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister for his visionary leadership and for taking time out of his demanding schedule to visit the University.
She remarked:
