She earned her Ph.D. in Law from the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, in 2003, with a thesis focusing on "Organ Transplant in India: A Socio-Legal Study." Her deep-rooted passion for the subject has driven her to become a prominent figure in the field.
With over three decades of teaching experience, including positions at the University of Delhi's Faculty of Law and the National Law University Delhi, Prof. Tikoo has consistently demonstrated her commitment to nurturing the legal minds of tomorrow.

Her work as a visiting faculty member at esteemed institutions such as the Indian Law Institute, Jamia Millia Islamia University, LNJN Institute of Criminology & Forensic Science, and the Delhi Judicial Academy has enriched legal education across the nation.
Moreover, she played a pivotal role in assisting the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi in formulating guidelines under the Transplantation of Human Organs Act in August 2007. Her expertise also led to her invitation as a resource person to discuss the National Draft Policy on the Criminal Justice System in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs in February 2007.
