March 29, 2026 - Gandhinagar - The Uttar Pradesh State Institute of Forensic Science (UPSIFS), Lucknow, has secured the Best Memorial Award at the Nyay Abhyuday 2.0 – 4th National Technological Moot Court Competition, organised by the National Forensic Sciences University, Gandhinagar, held on 28–29 March 2026. The competition witnessed participation from 48 teams representing leading law institutions across India, making the achievement particularly commendable.
The UPSIFS team was awarded a cash prize of ₹10,000 for its excellence in memorial drafting. The Best Memorial Award is conferred on teams that demonstrate superior quality in written submissions, including clarity of legal issues, depth of research, structuring of arguments, use of authorities, and overall presentation. The team’s memorial stood out for its analytical precision, coherent reasoning, and well-supported legal propositions.
The team comprised Shobhit Tiwari, Tushar, and Sahaj Mishra, all first-year students of UPSIFS. Despite being at an early stage of their academic journey, they demonstrated a strong grasp of legal principles and effective drafting skills, competing successfully against more experienced participants from senior batches of other institutions.
Nyay Abhyuday 2.0 focused on contemporary legal challenges at the intersection of technology and law, requiring participants to engage with emerging issues such as digital governance, cyber regulation, and evolving legal frameworks. The problem demanded not only doctrinal clarity but also the ability to apply legal principles to complex, technology-driven scenarios. The UPSIFS team effectively addressed these aspects through structured arguments and detailed legal analysis in their memorial.
This achievement reflects the emphasis placed by UPSIFS on research-oriented learning and practical legal training. Participation in national-level moot court competitions forms a key component of the institute’s academic approach, enabling students to develop advocacy, drafting, and analytical skills in a competitive environment.
The institute also acknowledged the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) G. K. Goswami, Director, UPSIFS, whose guidance and encouragement continue to motivate students to participate in prestigious academic forums and achieve excellence.
The accomplishment has brought recognition to UPSIFS at the national level, and the institute has congratulated the team for their performance while expressing confidence in their continued success in future competitions and academic pursuits.
