Pay Scale

Pre-revised Pay Scale- Rs. 15600 – 39100 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 5400 in PB – 3. Revised Pay as per 7th CPC Level-10 (Rs. 56100-177500) in the Pay Matrix. Total emoluments at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.56100/- (excluding HRA, TA) plus DA as admissible plus Special Security Allowance @ 20% of Basic Pay plus admissible Dress Allowance per month approximately.

Essential Qualification(s)

A. Educational

  • Degree in Law of a recognized University.
  • Basic knowledge of word processing on computer and internet.

Note: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

B. Experience

  • 7 years practice as an Advocate in conducting criminal cases or 7 years’ experience of State Judicial Service or Legal Department of State or Central Government.

Note: The qualification(s) regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates belonging to Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribes if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that a sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancy reserved for them.

Age

Not exceeding 35 years for General Category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 35 years for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates, 38 years for Other Backward Class candidates, 40 years for Scheduled Caste candidates, and 40 years for Scheduled Tribe candidates as on normal closing date in case of vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government Servants up to Five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by Central Government from time to time. Duty(ies)

To deal/look after all legal matters of the National Investigation Agency which will include conducting of cases in courts, legal vetting of various documents, giving legal opinions, drafting and preparation of legal correspondence, handling appeals and revisions, etc.
