ਘਰ ਇੱਟਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਵੱਟਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਣੇ ਕੋਠੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ। 'ਘਰ' ਤ ਭਾਵ ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪਿਆਰ ਤੇ ਸੱਧਰਾਂ ਪਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਬਾਲਪਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਂ ਭੈਣ ਤੇ ਭਰਾ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਲਾਡ ਲਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਹਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਹ ਕੇ ਲਿਤਾੜ ਕੇ, ਖੱਟੀ ਕਮਾਈ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਆਉਣ ਨੂੰ ਜੀਅ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਬੁਢੇਪੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹਿ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਝਮੇਲਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮਿਲੀ ਵਿਹਲ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਟਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਉਂ ਸਵਾਦ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਬਚਪਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਝੋਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ। ਘਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਨਿਜੀ ਵਲਵਲਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਸ਼ਖਸੀ ਰਹਿਣੀ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਚਰਣ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸਮਾਜਕ ਤੇ ਮੁਲਕੀ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਦਾ ਅਸਰ ਪਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਥੇ ਘਰ ਦੀ ਚਾਰ ਦਿਵਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਹਾਲਾਤ ਦਾ ਅਸਰ ਘੱਟ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ, ਸਗੋਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਆਚਰਣ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੀ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ। ਇਹੋ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੁਚੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਭਾਊ ਦਾ ਸਾਂਚਾ ਹੈ। ਕਈ ਵਾਰੀ ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਸੱਜਣ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਝੇ, ਸੜੀਅਲ ਜਾਂ ਖਿਝੂ ਸੁਭਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਦਿਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਹੋਣਾ। (8+2= 10 ਨੰਬਰ)
