DBRANLU Sonepat Observes International Girl Child Day 2025 with Awareness Programmes at Two Schools in Sonipat

Sonepat, October 11, 2025 — As part of its continued commitment to community engagement and gender sensitization, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University (DBRANLU), Sonepat, through its Centre for Gender Justice and Human Rights, in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Sonepat, successfully organized a series of Awareness and Outreach Programmes on the Protection of the Girl Child to commemorate International Girl Child Day 2025.

The first session was conducted at Hindu Kanya Senior Secondary School, Sonepat from 9:00 to 9:30 AM, followed by a second session at S.M. Hindu Senior Secondary School, Sonepat from 10:00 to 10:30 AM. Both programmes aimed to enlighten students about the importance of protecting the rights, safety, and dignity of the girl child while promoting legal awareness and empowerment among young minds.

The events were graced by Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Mishra, Registrar, and Shri Pracheta Singh, CJM-cum-Secretary, DLSA Sonepat. The dignitaries emphasized the essential role of education, awareness, and law in ensuring gender equality and the protection of children’s rights.

As part of the university’s social responsibility initiatives, students were also introduced to Law as a Career and the significant role of National Law Universities (NLUs) in shaping ethical, socially conscious legal professionals under the visionary leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh.

Through interactive discussions, students gained insights into the constitutional safeguards for women and children, the importance of reporting offences, and the contribution of legal institutions in building an inclusive and just society.

These awareness drives form an integral part of DBRANLU’s broader mission to promote gender justice, human rights education, and community outreach, reaffirming its dedication to advancing equality and legal literacy in Haryana and beyond.
