In light of the present pandemic, major challenges are being faced by the law enforcing authorities in combating the current situation and maintaining law and order.

The Webinar titled “Covid 19 Pandemic: Law Enforcement Challenges” will take place on July 11, 2020 (exact time to be mailed to the registered participants later).

The main focus of this webinar would be to understand that how and at what level did the Gujarat Police combat this pandemic situation at the state level. It will also cover the challenges faced by the Police to maintain the law and order.

About the GNLU Centre for Criminal Justice Sciences

Recognizing that a comprehensive appreciation of the technicalities, complexities and patterns of criminal law are indispensable for realizing the goals of the law, the University established the Centre for Research in Criminal Justice Sciences, as a centre of excellence to carry on research in the niche area of Criminal Law.

About the Speakers

Mr. Narasimha Komar is an alumnus of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. He is an IPS officer (1996 batch) and is currently the Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) of Gujarat. He has previously worked as SP and DIG at CBI as well.

Prof. (Dr.) S. Shanthakumar is the Director of Gujarat National Law University with about 27 years of teaching experience at prestigious universities. He is an alumnus of Madras University, Chennai, where he earned his graduation, post-graduation and doctorate degree in law. Before joining the legal academia, he had practiced at the Madras High Court for seven years.
