The Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law is a registered Charitable Trust under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882. The Organization focuses on AI-centric legal and policy research and has published reports and books on areas related to AI Policy.

About the Competition

​Recognizing the enormity of the challenges our society faces in technology and law ethics in India, Indian Society of Artificial Intelligence and Law is dedicated to making a lasting impact through our campaigns and programs. While our efforts are driven by our organization’s singular focus, we spread a wide net by investing in a variety of progressive strategies. The Indian Moot on AI and Law (IMAIL) is one such initiative.

The theme for the International Edition of IMAIL for this year is international investment arbitration and artificial intelligence.

Eligibility

Students enrolled in a full-time undergraduate law course of any accredited law school, law college or law University in the world are eligible to participate in this competition. Each institution will only be permitted to send one team.

Team Composition

A team may consist either of three (3) or four (4) student members where two student members need to be “speakers” and the remaining one student member/two student members if any needs to be “researchers”.

Registration Procedure

The last date for registration is June 21, 2021. There are 2 modes of registrations the rules approve: (a) Through Provisional Request; and (b) Reference by University Moot Court Society/Association/Faculty-in-Charge for Moot Court activities. The registration fees for the competition is INR 750 per team for participants from Indian Universities and USD 10 (equivalent to INR 750 as of 27-04-2021) for participants from overseas Universities.

  • Last Date for Queries and Clarifications – JUNE 7, 2021
  • Announcement of Clarifications – JUNE 14, 2021
  • Registration Deadline – JUNE 21, 2021
  • Memorials Submission Deadline – JULY 11, 2021
  • Dates of the Competition – All Rounds – AUGUST 5-8, 2021

The winners will be awarded in the following categories:

  2. Runners-Up, Indian Moot on Artificial Intelligence & Law
  3. Best Speaker
  4. Best Claimant Memorial
  5. Best Respondent Memorial
