Pay Scale
Revised Pay as per 7th CPC Level-10 (Rs. 56100-177500) in the Pay Matrix. Pre-revised Pay Band -3 (Rs. 15600-39100 Grade Pay of Rs. 5400/-) (Total emoluments excluding T.A. & HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 56,100/- plus DA as applicable per month approximately).
Essential Qualification(s)
A. Educational
Degree in Law of a recognized University.
Note: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
B. Experience
Seven years practice at the Bar in conducting criminal cases.
Note: The qualification(s) regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission in the case of candidates belonging to Schedule Caste or Schedule Tribe, if at any stage of selection the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancy reserved for them.
Age
Not exceeding 35 years for General Category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 35 years for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates,38 years for Other Backward Class candidates, 40 years for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates as on normal closing date in case of vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/UT Government Servant up to five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by Central Government from time to time. Duty(ies)
Public Prosecutor will be responsible for conducting the prosecution of cases in the courts, to attend matters arising of or pertaining to court cases/references and to give legal advice in respect of cases investigated by the Branch. Public Prosecutor will also attend to other works as prescribed by the Department from time to time.
Probation
Two years.
