JOB: Research Associates/Professionals/Experts | Competition Commission of India [Apply before Feb 26]

Competition Commission of India, New Delhi invites applications from eligible candidates for engagement of Research Associates/Professionals/Experts to assist the Commission in the discharge of its functions under the Competition Act in the following fields Law/Economics/Financial Analysis.

About Opportunity

Research Associates/Professionals/Experts are initially required for a period of one year which can be further extended as per requirements. They will assist the Commission in discharge of its functions under the Competition Act, 2002 and undertake such work/tasks as may be assigned to them from time to time.

Applicants should be dynamic and self-motivated professionals with effective analytical, communication (including technical writing) and interpersonal skills. The details of the eligibility criteria, remuneration payable and other terms and conditions of engagement are given in the annexure. The level of the Research Associates will be determined not only on the basis of experience and educational qualifications but also on the basis of the overall performance of the candidate during his/her interview.

For other terms and conditions of engagement of Research Associates/professionals, the guidelines contained in the Competition Commission of India (Procedure for Engagement of Experts and Professionals) regulations, 2009 as may be amended from time to time shall be applicable and the decision of the Commission in all such matters will be final and binding.

Essential Qualifications

• Degree of LL.B or equivalent from a recognized University and/or Institute in India or abroad, recognized by the Bar Council of India.
• Qualified to be registered as an advocate in any State Bar Council in India in terms of Advocate’s Act, 1961.
• Specialization in competition law or regulatory laws or laws relating to Intellectual Property Rights or International Trade Laws.

Experience in judicial or legal work, in Supreme Court, High Court or any other court, government or a Regulatory Authority or a Tribunal or any similar forum. Or, Professor/Reader/Lecturer of Law of any recognized University/Professional Institute of India or abroad with specialization in teaching competition law, Or, Legal Manager or above in the Corporate sector having experience of handling acquisitions, mergers, and amalgamations, etc., under competition law

Remuneration

Category Preferred Experience in year Lump-sum monthly Remuneration

• Level-I: One to three years ₹ 40,000/- with 10 percent increase on completion of each year
• Level-II: Three to five years ₹ 60,000/- with 10 percent increase on completion of each year
• Level-III: Five to ten years ₹ 85,000/- with 10 percent increase on completion of each year
• Level-IV: Ten to fifteen years ₹ 1,10,000/- with 10 percent increase on completion of each year
• Level-V: Fifteen years or more ₹ 1,35,000/- with 10 percent increase on completion of each year

Research Associates/Experts will be engaged in Level-I & II. However, professionals having higher qualifications and experience with an exceptional profiles can be considered for the higher level.
