CIRF in IPHD of CNLU is organising a Webinar on Intellectual Property Commercialisation and Entrepreneurship in collaboration with Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM), Ministry of Commerce, and Industries on 15th January 2021.

About the Institution

Chanakya National Law University [CNLU] is an autonomous law school in Patna, Bihar, India. It was established in 2006 by the Government of Bihar as a public university dedicated to the field of legal education.

About Centre

Centre for Innovation Research and Facilitation in Intellectual Property for Humanity and Development has been established at Chanakya National Law University, Patna with an objective to spread awareness towards intellectual property Rights through seminar/Conference/Workshop/Symposium and Innovation March, address Dispute Resolution through Arbitration, Mediation, and Conciliation, to discuss Global Trade in IP and Human rights, etc.

Concept Note

Intellectual Property is a creation of the Human Mind. When the innovation /invention is registered and rights are vested in the creator, it becomes property. But the property remains dormant until it is applied in the business/industries. Since, the innovators/creators may not have entrepreneurial competency, in this situation, investment is demanded and technology is transferred. But the pace of industrialisation remains as it is. Licensing and Assignment are essential tools for commercialisation. But entrepreneurship is also more important in the application of these tools for commercialisation. This requires awareness cum capacity-building programs amongst the business aspirants. Keeping these objectives in mind, CIRF and CIPAM are jointly organising this programme to inculcate entrepreneurial skills for the Commercialisation of Intellectual Property Rights.
