Section 52A of the Employees' Compensation Act, of 1923 deals with the provision of compensation for occupational diseases. An occupational disease is a disease or illness that is caused due to exposure to specific hazards in the workplace. The section provides for the compensation of employees who suffer from occupational diseases during their employment.

Under Section 52A, an employee who has contracted an occupational disease specified in Part C of Schedule III of the Act shall be entitled to compensation.
