16th February 2020

9:00 a.m.: Hii everyone! Today is the 3rd and Final day of 2nd Jagannath Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2020 where the teams will be fighting the final battle. We will keep you updated. Stay tuned.

9:15 a.m.: All the teams have arrived and proceeded for the high tea.

9:40 a.m.: All the esteemed Judges have arrived and the teams have proceeded for Semi-Final Round in Auditorium and Moot court hall.

10:15 a.m.: The Semi-Final Round has started in respective courtrooms.

11:50 a.m.: Dr. Pallavi Gupta, HoD School of law felicitated The hon’ble Judges with mementoes and with this the Semi-Final Round has been concluded.

12:15 p.m: The much-awaited results are out now. The subsequent Draw Of lots and Exchange of Memorials have been done. The teams qualifying for The Finals are :

  2. TC – 08

12:30 p.m.: The teams have proceeded for lunch.

1:30 p.m: The teams have proceeded for the preparations of the much-awaited Final Round. The Round will be starting soon.

2:00 p.m.: We are delighted to have Justice Swatanter Kumar,former Chairperson of the National Green Tribunal and Prof. S.K.Singh , Gautaum Budhha University ,Greater Noida as the Judges for final round. The Finals have begin with full enthusiasm.

3:00 p.m.: The Final Round of the competition has been concluded. There was an extravagant competitive atmosphere. Stay tuned for the result updates .

3:15 p.m.: The valedictory session has started. The valedictory ceremony today will see the likes of 2:00 P.M. We are delighted to have Justice Swatanter Kumar, former Chairperson of the National Green Tribunal and Prof. S.K.Singh, Gautam Budhha University, Greater Noida.

3:40 p.m.: The valedictory session was addressed by Prof. Pallavi Gupta, HoD, JEMTEC, School of law, welcoming Cheif Guest Hon’ble Justice Swatanter Kumar, former chairperson of the National Green Tribunal and prof. S.K. Singh, Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida, all the dignitaries, faculty members and the participating teams. She further introduced all the participating colleges and wished them All the best for the results and delivering the report of the 3-day event.

3:50 p.m.: Director, Prof. R.K. Raghuvanshi welcomed Cheif Guest and Guest of Honor with the utmost respect. He congratulated for the successful completion of the event. He further thanked Chairman sir and Dean for supporting and encouraging the participating teams. He stated the need for such competitions in order to give society the smart lawyers for justice to society.

4:00 p.m.: The gathering was privileged enough to witness the valuable words of the Guest of Honor Prof. S.K. Singh, Gautam Budhha University, Greater Noida who greeted the dignitaries and encouraged the students to provide to the society administration of justice. He told tales from dharma and Shastra relating to the administration of justice. He enlightened the gathering about the success, ‘ You will be successful if you develop some qualities, like competence, good communication skills, focus on strength, quality to connect with people, impressing the judge and to contribute to judicial system and society and one should know how to enjoy your success and to lead a happy life.

4:20 p.m.: The Cheif Guest Hon’ble Justice Swatanter Kumar, former chairperson of the National Green Tribunal addressed Guest in honour prof. S.K. Singh, Hod Dr. Pallavi Gupta, Director Dr. R.K. Raghuvanshi, all the guest and faculty members. He quoted that Gandhiji was not a successful lawyer as he wanted the parties to amicably settle rather than litigate. He stated the reason is one might lose the case or favour of job or criticism but by getting the matter settled one never lost is his consciousness whereas all other economic, social will fall if the conscious is clear. He further said that one must follow 3 H’s in their life i.e. Humane, Humble and Hardworking. He also advised the participants for the scope of betterment in research. In the last, he quoted ‘ Believe in yourself, believe in your hard work.’

4:30 p.m.: A tribute was payed to Late Adv. Lily Thomas by co-employees of LAW OFFICE OF ADV. LILLY THOMAS & SAJU JAKOB.

4:40 p.m.: Here are the results of the award ceremony. The winners of the 2nd edition of Jagannath Memorial National Moot Court Competition, 2020 are –

9:40 a.m. – All the Hon’ble Judges have arrived and the teams have proceeded for Preliminary Round – 1 in their respective courtrooms.

10:00 a.m. – The Preliminary Round 1 has started in respective courtrooms.

11:15 a.m. – The Preliminary Round 1 has been concluded in each courtroom. The preparations for Preliminary Round 2 has begun.

11:45 a.m. – All the teams have proceeded to their respective courtrooms for Preliminary Round – 2.

12:01 p.m. – The Preliminary Round 2 has started in respective courtrooms.

01:20 p.m: The Preliminary Round 2 has been concluded. The teams have proceeded for lunch.

02:00 p.m.: The awaited results of Preliminary Rounds will be declared soon. Everyone has gathered in the moot court hall.

2:20 p.m.: The much-awaited results are out now. The subsequent Draw Of lots and Exchange of Memorials have been done. The teams qualifying for the Quarter Finals are:

14th February

9:30 a.m. – Hi everyone! The preparations for 2nd Jagannath Memorial National Moot Court Competition 2020. are in full swing. The venue committee has put in a lot of efforts to set things up. Registration desks have been set up. Registration has begun. We will keep you updating. Have a great JMMCC

10:00 a.m. – Registration has been completed and teams have proceeded for the high tea.

11:00 a.m. – The Researcher’s test has been started. Simultaneously in the moot court hall draw of lots along with the exchange of memorials is proceeding.

11:40 a.m. – The Draw of lots and Exchange of Memorials has been concluded.

1:00 p.m. – Lunch has started for the participants.

2:00 p.m. – The lunch has been wrapped up and the participants have proceeded for Inaugural Session in the Auditorium.

2:30 p.m – Inaugural ceremony has started with the lightening of lamp by the guest in honour Prof. M. Afzal Wani, Chairman of JIMS Dr Amit Gupta, JEMTEC Director Prof. R. K. Raghuwanshi, HOD School of Law, & Chief Coordinator of the event Prof. Pallavi Gupta.

2:50 P.M. – The inaugural session was addressed by Prof. Pallavi Gupta, HoD, JEMTEC, School of law, welcoming all the dignitaries, faculty members and the participating teams. She talked about the success of 1st Jagannath Memorial National Moot Court Competition, 2019 and stated that ‘ Moot Court Competition are stepping stone in a law career.’ This was followed by the unveiling of souvenir.

2:55 P.M. – Director, Prof. R. K. Raghuwanshi was welcomed on the dice to encourage the gathering and talked about the importance of research, analysis and the art of convincing the judges by the presentation of judgements.

3:00 P.M. – Chairman JIMS, Dr Amit Gupta addressed the gathering and welcomed Guest in Honor Prof. M.Afzal Wani and encouraged the organising committee as well as the participants of the event. He also talked about the positive attitude which leads to a positive result and wished all the best to all the participants.

3:10 P.M. – Guest in Honor, Prof. M. Afzal Wani was welcomed onto the dice to address the gathering. He spoke about the importance of self-opinion in field of law and advised the aspirants to aim higher and also to work for it and bring honour and laurels for the institute, teachers and parents and to work for the satisfaction of the society. He followed his precious words by advising the students to read the original text by giving references to Article 14 of the Constitution of India and Bhagwad Gita.

He gave advice for advocacy skills to emphasize facts and then build arguments around it and support it by prior judgements. The lawyer should play with facts skilfully. Not to get frustrated by own problems cause the job of lawyers us to swallow others problems and concluded his speech by talking about the importance of ethics in a law career.

3:50 P.M. – All the dignitaries were felicitated by mementoes.

3:55 PM. – Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr A. K. Tyagi who thanked on behalf of the whole JEMTEC family and thanked Prof. M. Afzal Wani for his valuable words.

4:00 P.M – The inaugural session was concluded by National Anthem and paid homage to Pulwama Attack of last year by observing 2 minutes of silence.
