About the Event

“PAHAL”- is the national level dedicated competition of Child Rights Centre and UNICEF on the occasion of World Children’s Day, to brush up all the hidden talents, and to deviate the innate energy in the best positive direction, fulfilling its forever commitment towards the welfare and growth of children.

About the Institute

Chanakya National Law University is an autonomous law school in Patna, Bihar, India. It was established in 2006 by the Government of Bihar as a public university dedicated to the field of legal education.

The Child Rights Centre (CRC) is a specialized research center of Chanakya National Law University, Patna. The Centre was established with a mission to improve access to justice for children and promote research, advanced learning, and advocacy to strengthen child rights laws, policies, and practices in Bihar.

Categories

  1. Video making competition: The participants can make a video of about 3 to 4 minutes on various topics, or presenting any talents they have like singing, dancing, reciting a poem, or vlogs (about their day during Covid-19, highlighting the difficulties they face and what are they doing to overcome those difficulties.)

The videos will be judged on the basis of content and not on the basis of their editing or picture quality.

  • Group A: Below 16 years
  • Group B: 16-25 Years
  1. Essay Writing Competition: On the theme, “Expectations from the present government as a child and changes you would suggest.

For Students up to Std. 12th only

Language- English and Hindi

  1. Drawing and Painting Competition: Three Age Groups
  • Age Group A- (6-10 Years)
  • Age Group B- (11-17 Years)
  • Age Group C- (Above 18 Years)

Theme- “Protection of Women and Children

  1. Comic Competition: The participants will be required to make comics on the issues related to child rights or protection of children or any other matters related to child welfare, providing an amicable solution for the problems faced by children or with a social message.
  2. Quiz Competition: On issues related to Child Rights and other child-related matters. The participants will have to answer 20 objective questions in 20 minutes.
  • Age Group A- (6-10 Years)
  • Age Group B- (11-17 Years)
  • Age Group C- (Above 18 Years)
  1. Best out of Waste: The participants are required to show their creativity by making crafts from the materials easily available in their homes.
  2. Kids Takeover: The children have to make a submission in the form of a 3-4 minute long video, wherein they are required to talk about what they would like to be (eg. A leader, Prime Minister, President, Chief Justice, Vice-Chancellor etc.) and what would they do if they were given this chance for a day.

Last Date for Registration: 22nd November 2020.

For People Participating in the Quiz Competition, the last date for registration is 18th of November, 2020.

The Quiz will be held on the 20th of November, 2020 from 12:00 PM to 12:20 PM and the link for the same will be provided to all the participants via mail.

Guidelines

  • Font: Times New Roman, Font Size: 12, Line Spacing: 1.5, Alignment: Justified, Margin: 1 inch, Citation: Bluebook 20th edition.
  • Kindly mention the category of participation as the subject of the mail while making the submission.
  • Plagiarism for Essay writing should not be more than 15% in any case.
  • Word limit Essay is 1000 words (all excluding footnotes).

The last date for submission is 24th November 2020.
