The ultimate aim of this event is to bring back the energy in everyone’s life. This competition of CRC is launched keeping in mind the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic & its dampening effect on human life, especially women & children. Hence, to overcome boredom, to brush up all the hidden talents & to deviate the innate energy in the best positive direction, of all the youths & children, CRC is with the bunch of creative competitions accompanied with exciting prizes, fulfilling its forever commitment towards the welfare & growth of children.

About the Child Rights Centre

The Child Rights Centre (CRC) is a specialized research centre of Chanakya National Law University, Patna. The Centre was established with a mission to improve access to justice for children and promote research, advanced learning and advocacy to strengthen child rights laws, policies, and practices in Bihar. Child Rights Centre is established & running with technical support of UNICEF for effective implementation of children’s laws in Bihar.

I. Article Writing under Theme: ‘Covid-19 and its effect on Women & Children’

Sub-Themes

  1. COVID & Women & Child Protection (safeguard measures against increase in violence & exploitation )
  2. COVID & Education System (Online Medium & Management Practice during virtual closure)
  3. COVID & Healthcare System ( Psychological, Physiological & mental health of women & child)
  4. COVID & Cyber Security (Online Classes as new normal, child abuse over the internet)
  • Eligibility Academicians (Bachelor & Master) /researcher/ experts of any Stream.
  • Registration Fee – 200- single author & 300/- co-author (maximum of two co-authors are allowed)
  • Cash Prizes – 1,000/-, 750/- & 500/- rupees to top three participants respectively.

II. Essay Writing Competition under a broad Theme: ‘Impacts of Lockdown and Covid-19’

  • Eligibility – Students up to standard 12th (intermediate) can take part.
  • Registration Fee – 100/- rupees per participant.
  • Cash Prizes – 750/-, 650/- & 500/- to all the top three participants respectively.

III. Story Writing under a Theme: ‘Life during lockdown’; ‘Effects of Covid-19’ or any other theme having a strong nexus with Covid-19.

  • Eligibility – Open to all
  • Registration Fee – Rupees 200/- per participant.
  • Cash Prizes – 1,000/-, 750/- & 500/- rupees to top three participants respectively.

IV. Poetry Writing

  • Theme – ‘Life during lockdown’, ‘Effects of Covid-19’ or any other theme having a strong nexus with Covid-19.
  • Eligibility – Open to all
  • Languages – English and Hindi
  • Registration Fee – 200/- per participant.
  • Cash Prizes – 1,000/-, 750/- & 500/- rupees to top three participants respectively.

V. Drawing & Painting

  • Theme – Any piece of art related to the present pandemic ‘Covid-19 and its effect’ will be accepted. However, artworks regarding ‘COVID’s effect on Women & Children’ will be given preference for rewards.

Eligibility

  1. Age Group A- 6-10 Years
  2. Age Group B- 11-16 Years
  3. Age Group C- 17-24 Years
  • Registration Fee – 100 INR for Group A, B & C.
  • Cash Prizes – 750 INR, 650 INR, and 500 INR to all the top three participants of Group A, B & C respectively.

Rewards

  • E-certificates to all the participants.
  • Cash Prizes to the top three participants of all the events (as mentioned earlier) with a Certificate of Appreciation.
  • Selected works will also be published in CRC’s Newsletter, Social Media handlers & official blog.

General Submission Guidelines

  1. Font: Times New Roman, Font Size: 12, Line Spacing: 5, Alignment: Justified, Margin: 1 inch, Citation: Bluebook 20th edition.
  2. Kindly mention the category of participation as the subject of the mail while making the submission. For example – if you are making a submission for Article writing compt., mention subject of the mail as Article.
  3. Plagiarism for Article/Essay writing should not be more than 15% in any case.
  4. Word limit Article/Essay/Story Writing is 1000 words (all excluding footnotes).
  5. Participants are requested to register separately for separate categories.

Note

  • In case of any conflict, the decision of the Centre will be final and binding & no further query will be entertained.
  • Participants are requested to submit their works in .doc/docx format via mail at crcurjaa2020@gmail.com mentioning the concerned category as the subject of the mail.
